How Much Does a Cubic Yard Weigh?
Weight depends on the material. A cubic yard of gravel or flexbase weighs roughly 2,200 to 3,000 pounds, while lighter materials like topsoil weigh less per yard. These are standard industry ranges since exact weight shifts with moisture and material type, which is also why materials are sold and delivered by the cubic yard instead of by weight.
